Fraser became Gold Fields' chief executive on 1 January 2024. He joined BHP's human resources function in 2001, ran the Mozal aluminium smelter project in Mozambique from 2009 and, after South32's creation in 2015, was president and chief operating officer of its aluminium, nickel and South African manganese and energy coal businesses. He then led AIM-listed Chaarat Gold from 2022 before joining Gold Fields.
