What Gold Fields does
Johannesburg-headquartered gold producer whose history goes back to Cecil Rhodes's Gold Fields of South Africa, founded in 1887; the current company took shape in 1998. It is among the world's larger gold miners and is listed in Johannesburg and New York. Its Ghanaian operations face uncertainty over the renewal of the Tarkwa mining lease.
In Africa it operates the South Deep mine west of Johannesburg and the Tarkwa mine in Ghana, which contributes about a fifth of group output. Its other mines are in Australia (St Ives, Agnew, Granny Smith and the now wholly owned Gruyere), Peru (Cerro Corona) and Chile (Salares Norte), and it is developing the Windfall project in Canada. Management plans to keep annual output at 2.5-2.7Moz before reaching about 3Moz from 2030.

Tommy McKeith — Independent Non-executive Director, Perseus Mining
Perseus Mining added geologist Tommy McKeith to its board as an independent non-executive director with immediate effect. McKeith has more than 30 years in mining leadership and development and previously headed global greenfield exploration and project development at Gold Fields.
