Predictive Discovery and Robex complete merger to create 400,000 oz Guinea gold producer
The combined group pairs Robex's producing Kiniero mine with Predictive Discovery's multi-million-ounce Bankan project

Predictive Discovery and Robex Resources completed their merger on 15 April 2026, combining two Guinea-focused gold companies into a single producer and developer with ambitions to reach more than 400,000 ounces of annual gold output by 2029. Under the deal, structured as a plan of arrangement under Quebec law, former Robex shareholders received 7.862 Predictive Discovery shares for each Robex share held, valuing the transaction at roughly A$2.02 billion.
A producer and a developer, combined
The merger brings together Robex's Kiniero mine, which reached commercial production in February 2026 and is expected to contribute about 155,000 ounces a year, with Predictive Discovery's Bankan project in the Siguiri Basin of north-east Guinea. Bankan's definitive feasibility study outlines a resource of 5.53 million ounces and an ore reserve of 2.95 million ounces, underpinning targeted production of about 250,000 to 272,000 ounces a year over roughly 12 years, at a life-of-mine all-in sustaining cost of $1,057 an ounce. Pre-production capital is estimated at $463 million, with construction targeted to begin in mid-2026 and commercial production pencilled in for around April 2028. Combined, the two companies now hold roughly 9.5 million ounces of mineral resources across four projects, adding Fouwagbe and Sounsoun for Predictive Discovery and Nampala for Robex.
Why it matters
The deal creates one of the largest pure-play gold companies focused on a single African jurisdiction, with both flagship assets in Guinea. That concentration cuts two ways: it gives the combined group scale, shared infrastructure knowledge and a single government relationship to manage, but it also means the new company's fortunes are closely tied to political and regulatory stability in one country at a time when several West African governments have been renegotiating mining codes and ownership terms.
Andrew Pardey, who led Predictive Discovery as chief executive, and Robex's Matthew Wilcox now steer a business with a producing mine funding a fully studied growth project, a combination that reduces reliance on external capital markets to build Bankan.
What happens next
Predictive Discovery shares resumed trading on the ASX on 22 April 2026 and began trading on the Toronto Stock Exchange on 20 April, while Robex's TSX Venture Exchange listing was delisted. The enlarged company's next major milestone is a construction decision on Bankan, which, if it proceeds on the DFS timeline, would give Guinea two new large-scale gold mines within roughly two years of each other.
