Dunne, a British-born electrical engineer with an MBA, has been Northam's chief executive since 2014 after a long career at Impala Platinum, where he was responsible for mining, concentrating and smelting at the Rustenburg and Marula operations. He has turned Northam into the industry's growth story, and in August 2026 unveiled a Vision 2031 plan targeting about 1.5 million ounces a year while inviting approaches for the company or its assets after an informal bid.
