Cinnamond succeeded founder Clive Johnson as B2Gold's chief executive at the company's annual meeting on 4 June 2026. He joined B2Gold in 2013 and was its chief financial officer from April 2014; the company's African mines include Fekola in Mali and Otjikoto in Namibia. His early months in charge have been dominated by ramping up the Goose mine in Nunavut and securing Mali's grant of the Fekola Regional permit.
