Loots, a chartered accountant, joined Pan African's board in 2009 from Shanduka Resources, the empowerment partner in the company, became finance director in 2013 and chief executive in 2015. He has since added Australian production through the Nobles mine at Tennant Creek, and guided the company to record output of about 275,000 ounces in the year to June 2026 while building a net cash position.
